“IN MEMORY OF ELIZABETH HUME AND A. H. HUME”
The window is Dedicated to Andrew Hamilton Hume and his mother Elizabeth.
This is undoubtedly a Ferguson & Urie window. It was (or still is) thought to be by Lyon & Cottier but in my opinion it’s F&U work.
On the 17th January 2014, Glenda Campbell from Corowa contacted me with an enquiry and stated that in February,1884. The local paper states “it is a very beautiful piece of workmanship and was executed by the order of the Misses Hume by Messrs. Ferguson & Wise of Melbourne”. This is undoubtedly supposed to be Ferguson & Urie!
